High-Speed 3D-DIC for Strain Measurement & Modal Analysis of Wind Turbine Blades under Rotating Conditions

This experiment uses Revealer high-speed 3D-DIC (Digital Image Correlation) technology to measure the displacement field, radial strain field, and vibration modes of a wind turbine blade under realistic operating conditions: 750 rpm rotational speed and 13 m/s wind speed. The approach overcomes the limitations of traditional measurement methods in rotating test scenarios, enabling simultaneous, non-contact, full-field acquisition of displacement, strain, and modal parameters. These reliable experimental data support structural design validation and dynamic characterization of wind turbine blades. 3D digital image correlation is widely applied in such high-precision full-field measurement systems due to its ability to capture complex deformation behavior with high spatial resolution.
