Researchers at Hefei Fusion Science Center captured the full injection sequence at 275,000 frames per second via a lateral viewport.
A total of 214 frames divide the evolution into four stages: gun exit, flight, penetration, dissipation & merging.
The time window of 90 μs – 352 μs dominates structural destabilization and energy redistribution.
Key phenomena including plasma clump stratification, filamentary jets, necking, fragmentation and magnetic reconnection topological reconstruction are visually recorded.
The experiment verifies stable high sensitivity of NEO25M under extreme frame rate and low-light conditions. The visualized data supports injection optimization and edge plasma control for fusion facilities.
